Before confirming your booking at Mallard Cottage please take the time to read the information below. It includes vital information regarding cancellation policies and the amenities and services available at Mallard Cottage, which will assist you with planning your holiday.

The person whose name appears on the Booking Form, agrees to take full responsibility for ensuring that all members of the party adhere to the conditions below:

Payment Policy:

  • Unless otherwise specified, the room rates displayed on our website are given in pounds sterling per room per night, includes VAT.
  • 50% Deposit is payable upon booking.
  • 50%  plus any extras payable on arrival / check-in.
  • The booking guest must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Booking made on behalf of third parties are the responsibility of the person making the booking. The full amount is still payable in the event of the party failing to arrive.
  • Our rooms are subject to a maximum occupancy of 2 guests per room.
  • Minimum age of guests 5 years old.
  • Payments can be made online.

Cancellation/No-Show Policy:

  • Full refund will be applied as long as acknowledged via e-mail or written 48hrs before 12 noon on your arrival date.
  • If less than 48 hours notice is given via e-mail or written before 12 noon on your arrival date,we may, at our discretion, offer an alternative date suitable to you only if we have the availability to do so. If an alternative date cannot be mutually agreed the deposit remains non-refundable.
  • If you do not arrive before midnight on the day of check-in, deemed as a no-show, we do not offer any (either full or partial) refund. Please consider this carefully before you place your booking and pay your deposit.
  • In the unlikely event and in exceptional circumstances beyond our control, we may need to cancel your reservation. If this happens, we will use reasonable efforts to find you alternative accommodation of a similar standard, within reasonable distance of our location. If you wish to make use of such alternative accommodation, any costs and expenses associated with it shall be yours. In the event of us cancelling your booking, if you have paid us a deposit, we will reimburse you these monies in full. No further financial claims will be considered.

Kitchen & Breakfast :

You have the full use of the shared guests kitchen throughout your stay.

For breakfast a selection of eggs, cereals, museli, porridge, toast, jams, croissants, fresh fruits, natural teas & coffee are provided for in the guests kitchen. If preferred, a cooked breakfast can be provided on request for an additional fee.

Breakfast will be served between 0730am and 0900am Monday to Friday and 0800am-1000am Saturday, Sunday and Bank/Public holidays. We strongly advise anyone who suffers with any food allergies, to make this aware at time of arrival and we will do our best to provide for you.

Travel Insurance:
We strongly advise you to take out the appropriate levels of travel insurance, so you can have peace of mind that your costs will be covered, should you need to cancel your stay with us for any reason.

Please note Smoking is not permitted in Mallard Cottage or on any connected gardens or within 10 feet of any of the entrances to Mallard Cottage. 

It is not permitted to use any form of e-cigarette in the House or any connected buildings or garden.

We regret that we do not accept pets at Mallard Cottage. For service dogs kindly contact us before booking. 
Reason – non allergenic area.

Group Bookings:
Our rooms are subject to a maximum occupancy of 2 guests per room.
Hen, Stag or group parties are not permitted.

Arrival/Departure Procedures:
Check-in time is between 3pm and 7pm. Should you be arriving outside of these hours, please ensure an e-mail is sent 24hrs before or call Mallard Cottage on 01962 469380
Check out is 11:00am on the day of departure. 

Please let us know if you are coming by car as we have 1 private space for car dimensions less than 2.2m x -4.6m.
The car parks in Winchester are free from 6pm to 8am every evening/morning. On Saturday night it will be free from 6pm until Monday morning.

Our recommendation would be Chesil Multi Storey Car Park, SO23 0HU, around £1.40 / 2hrs.

Vehicles and their contents left on our premises or elsewhere during your stay with us are left at the owner’s risk. We do not accept responsibility for loss, theft, illegal parking or damage to or from your vehicle.

Damages, Missing Items:
We want you to relax and enjoy your stay, however we do ask that you leave your room tidy and treat Mallard Cottage with consideration and respect. 

We reserve the right and you hereby authorize us, to charge your credit or debit card for any cost of repair, specialist cleaning or replacement of your room, en-suite or communal area or their contents or fixtures or fittings required as a result of any damage caused to them during your stay or as a result of your acts or for any items that are missing following your departure.

 Unscheduled bed linen changes required will be charged at £25 per room.

Complaints Procedure:
We take all comments from guests seriously and in the unlikely event that you wish to make a complaint you can contact us by telephone or email and we will respond. We will try to resolve any issues as soon as possible.

Code of Conduct:
We request you to conduct yourselves appropriately at all times during your stay. Conduct and respect the property and other guests and their health and Safety. In doing so, you are requested not to disrupt the comfort, enjoyment or to cause offence to other guests and the smooth running of our property.

We also require you to respect your fellow guests and keep noise levels to a minimum after 10.00pm.
Unreasonable behavior or disruption to our guests and or the running of Mallard Cottage will result in you being removed from the premises and us to restrict access to your room immediately and without notice if we consider this provision to have been breached.
Any removed Guest shall be deemed to have checked out before the reservation end date.
Parents are responsible for their children, as such; children must be supervised at all times.

WiFi & Appropriate Usage Policy:
Where Wifi Internet access is provided, guests accept to use this access to the internet fairly & appropriately. 

We may monitor network performance & user usage in order to obtain a fair & high of service to our guests.

We will use our reasonable endeavors to ensure. that you are provided with free uninterrupted service 24 hours a day. We will not be liable however, for any reason if the service is not available at any time for any period, nor for any loss of data or damage to the equipment you suffer as a result of using our service.

The internet access provided is intended for general use such as access to the world wide web, email, messaging, social media, light video / music / media streaming.
It is not intended or ideally suited for heavy media streaming, online gaming, extensive downloads/uploads.
Access to illegal activity or use of our network for illegal activity is not prohibited and will be reported to the local authorities.
